Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Planting Industry

　　Jianchang Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Professional Cooperative grew out of Jianchang Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Production Cooperative which was founded in 2003. Jianchang Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Production Cooperative was renamed Jianchang Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Professional Cooperative in 2007. It is a peasant cooperative economic organization under Jianchang County Supply and Marketing Cooperative. The registered capital is 1.08 million yuan. The cooperative is in Zhangtaizi Village, Yaolugou Township, Jianchang County. There are 260 members in the cooperative that drive 3,500 farmer households. The main products of the cooperative include millet, corn ballast, sorghum rice, mung bean, red bean and corn flour. The products are sold in many large and medium-sized cities, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Shenyang. The products are favored by the vast number of consumers. In 2004, the cooperative successfully registered the trademark Yaolugou in the State Administration of Industry and Commerce of China. In 2005, the coarse cereals planting base was recognized by Liaoning Agricultural Department as a pollution-free agricultural production base in Liaoning Province. Major products were certified as pollution-free agricultural products by the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2009. The trademark Yaolugou of the cooperative was recognized as a famous trademark of Huludao City by Huludao Administration of Industry and Commerce. 

　　The coarse cereal industry is a characteristic industry dominated by Yaolugou Township, Jianchang County. This area is located in the mountainous area of Western Liaoning Province. It is always called Small Tibet in Jianchang. It is located in mid-latitudes and enjoys excellent climatic conditions. The frost-free period of the year is about 150 days, the number of the annual sunshine hours is 2915 hours, and the accumulated temperature is about 3400 degrees. The large range of temperature  between day and night in autumn is very beneficial to the production and accumulation of nutrients in crops. The growing period of coarse cereals here can be as long as 120 days, which is very suitable for the production of coarse cereals.Most of the soil in this area is yellow clay, which is suitable for millet growth. This place is famous for its millet production. Yaolugou millet has long sunshine time and good ventilation. The millet has high grade of maturity. The millet granules are full, bright yellow and rich in nutrition. Much farm manure, a small amount of organic chemical fertilizer and biological pesticides are applied to the coarse cereals produced in the area, so the soil environment is not polluted, which plays a positive role in improving the agricultural ecological environment and promoting the sustainable development of agriculture.   

　　On the premise of guaranteeing product quality, Jianchang Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Professional Cooperative is committed to brand building.Yaolugou Brand of coarse cereals was successfully registered as a brand trademark by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce of China in 2004. Yaolugou Millet won Quality Product Award at the 2nd Liaoning International Agricultural Exposition in 2005. Yaolugou Coarse Cereals gained Quality Certificate at the 3rd Liaoning International Agricultural Products Fair &Dalian Modern Achievements Exhibition in 2006. Yaolugou Millet passed the certification of pollution-free products of the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2009. The cooperative was awarded the Municipal Farmers Professional Cooperative Economic Organization by Huludao People’s Government in 2006 and was awarded the title of  Key Municipal Leading Enterprise by Huludao Municipal People's Government for Agricultural Industrialization in 2009. The Yaolugou trademark of the cooperative was recognized as a famous trademark of Huludao City by Huludao Administration of Industry and Commerce in 2009. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the coarse cereals products selected by Jianchang Yaolugou Coarse Cereals Planting Cooperative  were rated as The Most Popular Agricultural Products at at the Famous and Excellent Products Exhibition of Liaoning Rural Cooperative Economic Organization jointly organized by Liaoning Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and Liaoning Rural Cooperative Economic Organization Federation.
