Phenomenal — Huludao City May Day Cultural Tourism
Huludao had a moment during the past May Day spree, with a tourist count of 2.8116 million bringing in revenue at ¥2.072 billion, up 90.56% and 94.27% separately year-on-year, an indicator of prosperity, safety, and stability, as revealed on May 6th from Huludao Municipal Bureau of Culture & Tourism.
Data showed that the holiday visit was prevailed by incoming other provinces and regions, at 51.66%, with the top 5 being Hebei, Beijing, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, and Heilongjiang, among which travel and vacation were capped 98.58%, work and study at 1.42%. The tourism setup mainly featured individuals, families, and friend groups, taking up 93.84%.
In the lead up to the May Day schedule, the Program on Huludao City Tourism Market Order and Safety Overhaul was rolled out, as part of the holiday culture and tourism initiative in line with municipal, provincial and national guidelines. Also, a conference was held by municipal authorities to beef up market overall readjustment & service quality betterment related to citywide tourism, in a bid to secure the next level in elevated services and credible safety during the peak tourism season. In the meantime, a joint campaign performed an inspection of 324 businesses by a taskforce of 843 man-time, during the efforts of law enforcement, launched for favorable tourism market settings by a whole 10 Bureaus, from Culture & Tourism, Public Security, to Market Regulation.
On the entertainment front, the prime time was highlighted with the TV-series The Swimsuit Saga, set in the swimsuit-sporting Xingcheng City (under Huludao), along with 3 Meals Thru 4 Seasons, well cast in Huludao City by China Media Group (CMG), a big-hit program on good food and cultural tourism. As a nod to the striking shows, Huludao was in time for a captivating carnival, with a barrage of fine dining well on offer, from pickled Chinese cabbage & seafood hotpot, seafood BBQ, Suizhong (County) soft beancurd, great turbot (Scophthalmus maximus), to dried beancurd. As well, a sports ambassadorship drive was kicked off to enlist celebrity profiles for popularity and reputation in tourism promotions, like Olympic champion Wang Yifu, China Central Television (CCTV) presenter Benny Sa, world table tennis champion Deng Yaping, and national first-class actor Feng Gong. Better still, a profusion of releases were in progress on platforms like WeChat official accounts, and Douyin, with 3 carefully-crafted boutique itineraries well publicized for elevated tourist experiences, as an endeavor of Huludao in partnership with provincial counterparts.
As with scenic spots, a host of holiday events were underway to cater to the supply of tourism products. The Quaint Town Cultural Fest was hosted in Xingcheng for the theme The Swimsuit Saga in Honor of Ancient Ages, a jubilation drive, for free, on the go for a Town Walk in traditional Han Chinese clothing. Next, the seafront Keep Smile Walk has made it a fan-favorite getaway, flocked by a surge of internet influencers, and streamed with live music and flying phoenix performance. Beyond, the Longsou Bay Tourist Resort started the 3rd Rural Cultural Tourism, and Longsou Bay Eco-leisure and Health Festival, in an attempt to draw in tourists from far and wide for sights of the idyllic, individual and inviting countryside. Moreover, an island fireworks display took place in the Hulu Ancient Town destination, with iconic singers and popular bands performing live. As well, the Longtan Canyon Scenic Area joined the vibe, holding camping, BBQ, bonfire gala and more. For East Daihe Yin Tai Mercury Ocean Park, a sand sculpture exhibition was a great gift to round off the May Day holiday.
