Hulu Mountain Villa (National 4-A Scenic Spot)

Hulu Mountain Villa, which is next to the Coastal Sightseeing Highway, is located on the coast of the Bohai Sea, in the northeast of Huludao City, Liaoning. The planned area of the scenic spot is as large as 5,000 mu, 2,500 mu of which has been developed and is open to public. The area that is open to public was developed by Liaoning Hongye Industrial Group in 2001. After over 10 years’ development, Hulu Mountain Villa has become a National 4-A Scenic Spot, National Cultural Industry Base, National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site, National Five-star Demonstration Park of Leisure Agriculture, National Youth Outdoor Camp, and a Liaoning Top-10 Scenic Spots. The scenic spot with gourd culture as the core and folk culture as its main characteristic is a tourism culture complex integrated with  tourism, shopping, catering and accommodation, leisure and entertainment, exhibition services, characteristic agriculture, and quality education. It is an important cultural scenic spots on the Bohai Rim Tourism Belt and the “Living Room” of Huludao City. It is also the real gourd cultural center in the world and the representative of the folk culture of Northeast China. 

There are 8 main theme exhibition halls in Hulu Mountain Villa Scenic Spot. Two national exhibition halls of them can be called palace of art. Northeast China Folk Customs Museum of China is a large-scale theme exhibition hall that collects and exhibits the customs and people’s livelihood of Northeast China in an all-round way. There are 16 theme units in eight exhibition areas. There are over 8,000 items of the collection in the Household Utensils Exhibition Area, Folk Craftsmanship Exhibition Area, Four-season Style Exhibition Area, Traditional Costume Exhibition Area and Golden Years Exhibition Area. The collection is a vivid history scroll of folk customs. The restored scenes have strong northeastern characteristics, including the old folk houses in Western Liaoning, ten strange things in Northeast China, Jiuhuang Street, old-style furniture, three-inch golden lotus shoes, old photographs, private contracts and Four Big Western Liaoning Items.
